Iniciativas Sustentáveis e Desempenho Organizacional: Uma Análise das Publicações na Base Web of Science

O Brasil passa por uma era de reflexão sobre a preservação dos recursos naturais, assunto que está cada vez mais em pauta.A busca pelo equilíbrio entre os aspectos ambientais, sociais e econômicos é um desafio para a sobrevivência dos negócios e tem levado as empresas a adotarem iniciativas voltadas para a sustentabilidade.O objetivo deste artigo é analisar como a produção científica internacional aborda práticas e iniciativas sustentáveis e sua relação com o desempenho organizacional. Para isso foi desenvolvido um estudo bibliométrico das publicações localizadas na baseWeb of Science – Social Sciences Citation Index (WoS-SSCI). Foram identificados e selecionados 33 artigos sobre o assunto. Os periódicos que se destacam em quantidade de artigos e número de citações são o Journal of Cleaner Production e o Strategic Management Journal, respectivamente.Analisando os resultados, percebeu-se uma crescente preocupação com esse tema e o aumento das publicações depois dos anos 2000. O resultado encontrado, de forma geral, associa as práticas sustentáveis com um positivo desempenho organizacional, tais como aumento do lucro sobre o produto vendido, melhoria de qualidade, melhoria da reputação, redução de resíduos, entre outrosganhos obtidos.
